Wild Game BBQ & Bonfire: The True Taste of Goto Island

In May, a fun-loving trio stayed with us for two nights!
They love nature and adventure but didn’t want the hassle of bringing heavy gear to the island. That’s where our "Hands-Free Camping" comes in!
From the tent to the breakfast skillets, we provide everything you need. If you want a smooth, gear-free island adventure, this plan is for you. Highly recommended!

After pitching their tent, they headed off on a wild mission: building their own hot spring!
Just 10 minutes away in the Arakawa area, there’s a hidden spot where hot spring water bubbles up right by the ocean. They spent two hours digging and clearing rocks to create their own "wild bath." I was amazed—hardly any first-time visitors to Goto know how to find or enjoy such a local secret!
Their research skills didn't stop there. They also picked up fresh venison (wild deer meat) from "Yume-no-Eki." It’s a cool spot inside a former elementary school that serves as both a thrift shop and a place for local game meat. Even I go there often, but I was shocked they knew exactly where to get the best gibier for their BBQ!

They roasted the venison over the bonfire using bamboo and hemp rope they found nearby—a total DIY feast!
I’ve always dreamed of offering this kind of authentic experience, so seeing them make it happen on their own was incredible. I felt so happy watching them fully embrace the freedom of my camp, but honestly... I was a little jealous because it looked so fun!
This meeting reaffirmed the potential of my guesthouse and reminded me of what I truly love. It was a moment of pure inspiration.
