When a Kids’ Adventure Becomes an Adult’s Inspiration.

Our guesthouse is located on the complete opposite side of Fukue Island's bustling town center. It’s a remote spot surrounded by nothing but raw nature—but I feel that’s exactly why it catches the eye of those who truly love the outdoors. We welcome all kinds of guests, from those who live close to nature every day to those at the forefront of the big city. This time, a family of four joined us all the way from Minato-ku, Tokyo—one of the most prime real estate districts in the world.
It was a summer adventure for the duo: a slightly shy younger brother and an older sister who was eager to try everything. They stayed busy balancing their summer homework with trips to the ocean and the river! Right around the guesthouse, they stayed active with harvesting vegetables, hunting for rhinoceros beetles, and tackling the challenge of starting a fire for the BBQ. I can’t help but wonder which of these moments the little brother chose to capture in his illustrated summer diary!

What struck me the most was when I took them prawn hunting in the river and recommended Tontomari Beach—since its shallow waters make it even more like a natural pool than Takahama.
Believe it or not, it was the dad who got the most excited! He was more hooked on catching prawns than anyone else, losing track of time and splashing around like a little kid. He couldn't stop raving about Tontomari Beach, calling it 'just like a giant, natural swimming pool.'
Seeing him truly embody our concept—'A place where everyone can be a kid again'—brought such a huge smile to my face! I'm so happy we could make that happen.

From the daily grind of the big city to the extraordinary wild.
Here in the Goto Islands, you’ll find raw, primal experiences that awaken dormant cells and revive forgotten memories—in both adults and children alike.
