I really feel that people from Europe truly love being active! This May, with so many crisp and pleasant days, we’ve welcomed guests from all over the world.
On this particular day, we had two guests from France: one standing at a crossroads in life, and another who had traveled all the way from Tokyo by bicycle!
This 'French duo' happened to meet here by chance, and we kicked things off by making wood-fired pizzas together.

Since we were a bit short on time, I prepped the dough and let it ferment beforehand. All they had to do was stretch it out, load it up with sauce, toppings, and cheese, and slide it right into the pizza oven themselves!
The guy who cycled all the way from Tokyo to Goto—his curiosity and adventurous spirit truly know no bounds. He was teaching us all about the different types of pizza in Europe and gave us some pro tips, like 'It tastes even better if you drizzle olive oil and a pinch of salt after baking!

I mentioned earlier that he was at a 'crossroads in life.' He fully embraced our nature activities, like pier fishing and harvesting potatoes, but he later opened up and told us the truth: he had lost his job just before coming to Goto.
When we found out it was also his birthday during his stay, we knew we had to go all out with our signature GIVE ME FIVE hospitality! Our local 'free-diving master,' hearing his story, even took him out on the boat after the potato harvest and threw a big party for him that night.
While we can’t always provide this level of intensity for every guest, we always strive to connect with each person’s unique story. We want everyone to leave feeling, 'I’m so glad I came to Goto.
