I've traveled the world, and one thing's for sure: Westerners love a good adventure. They're always up for anything, rain or shine. I met a German dad and his half-Japanese son who are the perfect example. They've been cycling around Japan and decided to continue their adventure in Fukue Island.
As soon as they arrived, they couldn't wait to set up their tent and explore the island. Even though it was a bit of a walk to Takahama Beach, they were full of energy. I prepared the BBQ while they were out having fun. I think I'll grab a drink and relax.

We had a BBQ with a mix of guests, including a solo traveler, two women from Tokyo, and a German family. Everyone got along really well. The German family, especially the little boy, was so adventurous. He told me he doesn't join any clubs at school because he prefers to travel with her dad. It was a heartwarming reminder that there's more to learning than just school.
